Squatty ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Squatty mobile application.

1. Overview

Squatty is a fitness game. You prop your iPhone up, step back, and squat; the camera tracks your movement and moves a character through the game. The app records your runs so you can watch them back.

We only collect data necessary to provide the app experience.

2. Information We Collect

A. Account & Authentication Data

Squatty creates an anonymous account on first launch so you can play immediately.

• A unique user identifier
• Email address, only if you choose to sign in with one
• Authentication provider (Apple, Google, or email)

Notes:

• You are never required to create an account or give us an email address
• When using Sign in with Apple, your email may be anonymized (private relay)
• We only receive the data provided by the authentication provider
• We do not access your passwords

B. Gameplay Data

We collect information related to how you play:

• Your display name, either chosen by you or generated for you
• Run results: score, duration, and the date of the run
• Your best score and total number of runs
• Day streak
• How many runs you have played today, for the daily free limit
• Whether you have an active subscription
• Reports you file about another player

C. Camera & Video

This is the part that matters most, so it is stated plainly: we never receive your camera feed or your recordings.

• Each camera frame is analysed on your iPhone by Apple's Vision framework to find the position of your body. No frame is transmitted anywhere.
• If recording is enabled, the video is written to storage on your phone and stays there. It is never uploaded to us or to any server.
• A recording leaves your phone only if you save it to your photo library or share it yourself.
• You can turn recording off at any time, and the game works exactly the same without it.

D. Technical Data

• The app version a run was played on
• Device type and operating system version, but only when you contact support, because they are included in the email you send us

E. Analytics

We do not use any analytics service. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier, no behavioural tracking, and no third-party tracker of any kind in the app or on this website.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the data above to:

• Run the game and save your progress
• Show the leaderboard and your position on it
• Apply the daily free run limit
• Manage your subscription status
• Respond to reports and keep the leaderboard honest
• Answer you when you contact support

We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

4. Data We Do Not Collect

• Your camera feed or your recordings
• Your location
• Your contacts
• Your photo library
• Health or fitness data from Apple Health
• Your advertising identifier
• Payment card details

5. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

We only share limited data with trusted third-party services:

• Apple (authentication, payments)
• Google (authentication, if used)
• Supabase (database and account hosting)
• RevenueCat (subscription management)

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. None of them receive your video.

6. Data Storage & Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

• Secure storage systems
• Row-level access rules, so one account cannot read or alter another's data
• Server-side controls on scores and subscription status, which the app cannot write

However, no system is completely secure.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the service.

When you delete your account:

• All personal data is permanently deleted
• All gameplay data (runs, scores, streaks, leaderboard entry) is removed
• All recordings stored on your phone are deleted
• This action is irreversible

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, or receive a copy of it. You can delete everything yourself from inside the app, or email us and we will help.

If you are in the EU or the UK and are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

9. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time within the app, from Profile → Account → Delete account.

Upon deletion:

• All personal data is erased
• All recordings on your device are erased
• Subscription data remains managed by Apple, so cancel it there first
• Deletion cannot be undone

10. Children's Privacy

Squatty is not intended for children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date".

Continued use of the app means you accept the updated policy.
