The only game you can't play sitting down
Prop your iPhone against something at hip height, step back a couple of paces, and squat. The camera follows your hips, the blob goes where you go, and the run ends the first time you clip a pipe.
Download on the App StoreFree to play, five runs a day. No account needed to start.
One button. After that you put the phone down and step back.
How a run goes
About ninety seconds from picking up the phone to lying on the floor regretting it.
-
Prop the phone at hip height
Against a water bottle, a shoe, the leg of a chair. Pointing level, not tilted up at you. The framing assistant tells you when it can see enough of you to start.
-
Step back two or three paces
Far enough that your whole body is in frame. Check there is nothing behind you, because you are about to stop looking at the room.
-
Squat on three
The countdown measures your standing height and your deepest squat, and maps everything in between onto the screen. Stand up and the blob rises. Drop into a squat and it falls. Hold half way and it hangs there, which is the part that hurts.
Every run is filmed. Nothing is uploaded.
Squatty records the camera and the game together, so the clip shows you squatting and the blob doing exactly what you told it to. Runs are saved to the Clips tab, where you can watch them, save one to your photo library, or delete it.
Those videos are written to your phone's storage and stay there. They are never sent to us, never uploaded to a server, and never used for anything. A clip leaves your phone only if you save it and share it yourself. Pose detection runs on the device too, using Apple's Vision framework, so no frame of video is transmitted anywhere.
Old clips are cleared automatically past 2 GB or thirty runs, whichever comes first, so the app cannot quietly fill your phone.
